Hi everyone!

I've been awol... I'm just very, very, very busy with work. That, and I hate January. I hate celebrating time passing by: I just can't get in the mood of being happy for an other year which is over, because it also means I'm getting older, something I'm not very comfortable with. I wish I could be like all the stars who say ageing is such a wonderful and natural thing, I'm not!

That said, I wish you all the best for this new year, even if I'm so very late to do so.

I've been so out of the blog world that it's going to take me several days to catch up with your blogs, but I'm sure it will be fascinating as usual. I just saw that Whisperwood Cottage has a "First 2011 Project" party. I wish I had something to show, but except for Greek Mythology, I've been working on nothing for two weeks now! (If you hadn't guessed Greek Mythology is something my pupils - and therefore myself - have to study).

But I have lots of projects for 2011... So during January we'll kiss goodbye a few of my house features.

First Goodbye: the henhouse!

IMGP1632

Pour commencer, adieu aux vestiges du poulailler!

At the far end of the second garden, it looks beautiful from afar.

But if you get near, not so much!!!

These are the remains of the henhouse that used to stand (or rather barely stand) there.

This should all disapear in February and it should over the years be replaced by my dream-small-fruit-garden. If you have a fruit garden, I'll very happy to read your advice.

Do you know, your garden reminds me a little bit of mine. I think that's partly why I like it so much. It feels very familiar to me....only yours has no climbing frames and tricycles messing it
up!!

Really? It's the best thing I could have read about my garden, that it reminds you of yours, which I like so much on the pictures. I must say I kind of fell in love with the garden first, as I
walked through it before visiting the house.

Merci.

Your gsrden is beautiful! We have a fruit gardne, which I LOVE!! We have raaspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, whitecurrants, plum trees, apple trees, peach trees, strawberries,
and rhubarb. The trees are easy-peasy. They produce masses for very little care (just a bit of formative pruning) but make sure you pick the right size root-stock for your garden.

I hope your January gets happier, my lovely.
